Vertical form fill seal (VFFS) packaging machines are automated packaging equipment that integrates functions such as bag making, filling, sealing, and coding. Their core working logic revolves around three key stages: film forming, material filling, and sealing and cutting. The overall process is highly integrated and automated.
First is the film feeding and forming stage: The roll of packaging film is fed out by a unwinding mechanism and guided to the former by guide rollers. Under the action of the former, the film is folded into a tubular shape. Simultaneously, the sides of the film are sealed by a longitudinal sealing mechanism (mostly using heat sealing), forming a continuous bag tube structure. During this process, a photoelectric positioning device continuously detects the printed marks on the film to ensure accurate bag making and prevent packaging pattern misalignment.
Secondly, the material metering and filling stage: Depending on the material type (granules, powder, liquid, paste, etc.), a corresponding metering device is used. For example, granular materials often use volumetric or weighing metering, while liquid/paste materials often use pump or piston metering. The metered material is precisely injected into the forming bag tube below through a discharge channel. The filling timing is strictly synchronized with the bag making rhythm to prevent material spillage or insufficient filling.
Finally, the transverse sealing and cutting stage: After the bag tube is filled with material, the transverse sealing mechanism heat-seals the upper and lower ends of the bag tube, forming independent sealed packaging bags. Some models can achieve special sealing effects such as easy-tear openings and zippers as needed. After transverse sealing, the cutting mechanism cuts the continuous packaging bags one by one according to the preset size, and defective packages are automatically rejected. The entire process is coordinated by a PLC control system, and parameters such as packaging speed, bag length, and metering specifications can be set via a touch screen, ensuring convenient operation and controllable precision.
