Speed is meaningless if the machine jams every ten minutes. Precision is useless if changeover takes two hours. Our high speed doypack packaging machine balances both – delivering up to eighty bags per minute on zipper pouches and stand up bags while maintaining alignment accuracy and supporting tool less changeover.
The machine operates on a servo driven rotary platform with twelve stations. Each station is independently controlled, allowing the machine to continue running at reduced speed if one station requires maintenance. Servo motors control all critical movements: bag pick up, zipper alignment, filling, compression sealing, and discharge. This eliminates mechanical linkages and clutches that drift out of adjustment over time.
The zipper reclosure applicator is the technical centerpiece. An optical line sensor scans the zipper track on each individual doypack. Premade pouches often have zipper tracks that are not perfectly straight or consistently positioned relative to the bag edges. The sensor feeds position data to a servo driven alignment mechanism that rotates the bag into correct orientation before the filling station. This closed loop inspection and correction cycle happens on every bag, not just random samples.
After filling, a dedicated zipper compression station applies heated pressure followed by cooled pressure. The heated pre compression softens the zipper material, allowing the male and female tracks to fully engage. The cooled final compression sets the engaged position permanently. Bags processed through this dual stage system maintain zipper function through hundreds of open close cycles.
Changeover between bag sizes uses a tool less design. Bag grippers release with a quarter turn of a locking knob. Filling system adjustments are made through a touch screen interface that stores recipes for up to two hundred different bag and product combinations. A complete changeover from a small stand up pouch to a large zipper bag takes fifteen to twenty minutes. The optional servo driven quick change system reduces this to under eight minutes.
Speed ratings are real world, not theoretical. The standard model runs forty to sixty bags per minute. The high speed model reaches eighty bags per minute on stand up pouches without zipper, and seventy bags per minute on zipper pouches.
Sealing parameters are independently controlled for three zones across the bag width. This compensates for bags that are slightly out of square – a common issue with lower cost premade pouch suppliers. The sealing temperature is regulated within plus or minus one degree Celsius across all three zones.
